By collaborating using the National Forest Foundation and its companions, Green Drone AZ attaches with all the River Pathways program hosted through Audubon Southwest. Together with these partners, students from varied Phoenix area middle and high colleges take part in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) concentrated activities to handle real-world environmental challenges within their communities.
This program seeks to equip these future market leaders with the various tools and resources had a need to successfully safeguard and save our natural ecosystems. This work meaningfully incorporates the use of technologically advanced systems such as Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), or drones, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Green Drone AZ is the product of a collaboration between Northern Arizona University (NAU), Ecoculture, the Tonto National Forest, Arizona State University (ASU), the National Forest Foundation, The Boeing Company, Society for Science, the Arconic Foundation, Niagara Cares, and the APS Foundation. Administration in our public lands and natural resources will belong to the fingers of today’s youngsters soon. To strengthen and catalyze development of a broader "pipeline" of students thinking about STEM through the use of leading edge technology to handle real-world environmental challenges within their communities.
